Man Tied To Location Where Dead Prostitutes Found

WORCESTER (WBZ) ― A man named by prosecutors as a "person of interest" in a series of unsolved murders in central Massachusetts once used an address on the grounds of a private school where the remains of two of the victims were found.

The MetroWest Daily News reported Tuesday that 38-year-old Alex Scesny listed the property owned by Hillside School in Marlborough on public records. His brother, Stan Scesny, told the newspaper that their father, William, used to run a farm at the school.

The remains of Carmen Rudy and Betzaida Montalvo were found in September 2003 in shallow graves behind the school. Investigators said both women had worked as prostitutes in Worcester.

Alex Scesny is currently being held on an unrelated rape charge.

His DNA was taken when he was arrested in connection with the March 2007 rape at the Reservoir Motor Lodge in West Boylston. It later connected him with the Oct. 23, 1996 slaying of 39-year-old Theresa Stone.

Police said the woman in the rape case told authorities she was dating Scesny when he tried to smother her with a pillow after forcing her to have sex with him at the Reservoir Motor Lodge.

A profile of the Main South serial killer describes him in part as a construction worker with a drunken driving record.

While investigators say Scesny does fit the profile, they say there are other persons of interest that do as well.

Police said they had been keeping an eye on Scesny since the skeletons of Worcester prostitutes were discovered in Marlboro and Hudson five years ago.

Scesny has a history of violence and a drunken driving record.

The skeletal remains of Montalvo and Rudy were found on the grounds of Hillside School in Marlboro in 2003, while Dinelia Torres' skeleton was found in 2004 in Hudson.

Wendy Morello's body was found in 2004 in a trash can in Maine. Three years later, a hunter found the skeletal remains of 34-year-old Lineida Olivera near Rutland State Forest.

Scesny is currently being held without bail in connection with a Worcester Superior Court rape case.
