Teen Held On $2,500 Bail In Cell Phone Video Fight
HOLDEN, Mass. (AP) ―
A 17-year-old has been ordered held on $2,500 bail after pleading not guilty to assault and battery charges for his role in a fight near Wachusett Regional High School that taped and posted on the Internet.
The fight on Monday involved a group of teenagers using a pipe to beat two students. The incident was recorded on a cell phone.
Prosecutors say Brendan Simpson of Worcester also was ordered at his arraignment in Leominster District Court on Wednesday to stay away from others involved in the fight and from the school.
Two other suspects, ages 15 and 16, also were charged with assault and battery. Their names were not released because of their age.
Police have not released a motive for the fight.
Authorities says there could be more arrests.
