Man Seriously Burned In Gardner Fire

GARDNER (WBZ) ― A man was seriously burned in a condo fire in Gardner Monday night.

The fire was in a bedroom on the first floor of the Crystal House Complex.

A man in that unit was life-flighted to UMass Medical Center in Worcester for treatment of his injuries.

Firefighters say seven other residents of the building were treated for less serious problems. "We had a one-room burnout on the first floor," said Gardner Fire Dept. Captain Bob Newton. "A gentleman was rescued I believe by another occupant."

Now fire investigators are trying to figure out how the fire started.
