Pedestrian Killed By Truck On I-290

NORTHBORO (WBZ) ― State police say a man walking along Interstate 290 in Northborough was struck and killed by a passing tractor-trailer.

49 year-old Albert Bairos of Shrewsbury was walking eastbound on the highway when he was struck at about 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

He suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not say why Bairos was on the highway.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, 66-year-old Philip Bruno of Blandford, was not hurt.

The incident remains under investigation.
