Nathaniel Turner's Heart Donated To Boy

WORCESTER (WBZ) ― The little boy who was beaten to death in Worcester earlier this month, allegedly by his father, has given the gift of life to another child.

Nathaniel Turner's family donated his organs after the 7-year-old was taken off life support Saturday at UMass Memorial Medical Center.

His grandmother Christine Turner told WBZ Tuesday that his heart was donated to 7-year-old boy who needed a transplant.

She says she hopes to meet the boy in the future.

Nathaniel Turner's father, 36-year-old Leslie Schuler, will beĀ arraigned Tuesday afternoon on a murder charge in Central District Court.

He is being held on $250,000 cash bail following his court appearance last week for assault and battery on a child and other charges.

Nathaniel Turner had been living with his grandmother in Eufaula, Ala., until a few weeks ago, when he moved in with his father in Worcester.

Investigators say Schuler beat his son so severely the boy went into a coma on Father's Day.

He was declared brain dead last week.
