Driver Indicted In Crash That Killed 3 Teens

GREENFIELD (WBZ) ― The driver of a car that struck a tree in Orange in August, resulting in the death of his three friends, has been indicted by a grand jury on three counts of motor vehicle homicide.

The indictment of 17-year-old Frederic Adams of Athol yesterday says there was no sign of intoxication, but it does cite negligence as a factor in the accident.

Angelica Cheverez and Brittany Bailey of Orange, and Joseph Songer of Athol, died in the late-night crash. All were 18 years old.

Authorities said the four were friends and were headed to a store at the time of the crash.

Adams face a maximum of 2 1/2 years in jail on each count.
