Husband Allegedly Kills Wife, Himself In Templeton

TEMPLETON (WBZ) ― A husband and wife were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide in Templeton on Tuesday.

According to the Worcester D.A.'s office, Bernadette LaRoche, 57, was found bludgeoned to death in her basement office. Her estranged husband, William, 58, of Gardner, was found dead on the first floor.

Officials say William was at his wife's house in violation of a restraining order. Templeton police said they were aware of the restraining order and had been checking Bernadette's house on a regular basis.

Police were alerted of the situation by a business acquaintance of Bernadette who was unable to get anyone to answer the phone or open the door at Bernadette's house.

According to the D.A.'s office, Bernadette obtained a restraining order against her husband in Dec. 2007. She had renewed that order in April.

Officials believe this incident is a tragic case of domestic violence.
