2 Found Dead In Upton Home

UPTON (WBZ) ― Police are trying to learn more about what led up to an apparent domestic murder-suicide in quiet section of Upton just west of I-495.

The bodies of Dawn Armstrong, 37-years old, and Thomas Lizotte, 42, of Millville, were found by Upton Police shortly after they received a call from one of Armstrong's co-workers at McIntyre Loam in Hopkinton around 7:30 Monday morning.

The co-worker asked police to check on Armstrong's welfare at her Elm Street home because she had not shown for work Saturday or Monday.

Police say they had to force their way into the home. Once inside, they discovered the couple dead from apparent stab wounds.

They say Armstrong had been stabbed multiple times.

Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early said while the investigation is in its preliminary stages, "it appears that these deaths were the result of a murder-suicide with Thomas Lizotte acting as the aggressor. It's important to reassure the community that this appears to be an isolated tragedy."

The district attorney says it's believed the couple lived together off and on.

Upton Police kept the road in front of Armstrong's home blocked off into the afternoon as State Police crime scene technicians examined the scene and collected evidence.

Particularly puzzling at this early point in the investigation is that police say there had been no threats, reports or calls for trouble at Armstrong's home.
