Pedestrian Killed In Webster Fire Truck Accident

WEBSTER (WBZ) ― A pedestrian was killed in a tragic accident at the fire station in Webster Friday morning.

A Ford F-350 pick-up truck owned by the fire department backed over Philip Walach just after 8 a.m.

He was rushed to Hubbard Regional Hospital where he died a short time later.

Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. said the pick-up had just backed into the garage bay at the station when Walach was found under the truck.

He was 67 years old and a resident of Webster.

Fire officials canceled a prom safety event for high school students after the accident.
