Barack Obama is planning to spend part of his 47th birthday in downtown Boston Monday.
The Democratic presidential contender will be at an evening fundraiser at the State Room on State Street.
The cost per couple for dinner is a reported $28,500.
Obama has a connection to the area after spending three years in Cambridge at Harvard Law School. He's also good friends with Gov. Deval Patrick.
