Michelle Obama Energizes Students At N.H. College
KEENE, N.H. (WBZ) ―
Michelle Obama urged hundreds of college students in Keene to get registered and vote for her husband.
She was clearly pleased with his performance in Tuesday night's debate.
"Did you all see the debate last night? Barack was outstanding," she said to a crowd of students.
She added that he will bring a smart, calm, respectful, intelligent, and connected tone and tenor to the White house.
Mrs. Obama told the crowd about her upbringing in the South Side of Chicago, describing herself as the daughter of a hard working father who didn't let multiple sclerosis stop him from going to work everyday to support their family.
She also talked about her husband's upbringing, the son of a single mother who at times depended on food stamps.
"Don't we deserve policies that match our realities? Don't we want a leader who gets it? One thing I've been telling people as I've gone around the country is that Barack Obama gets it. He gets it in a fundamental way, not some philosophical way, he gets it because he's been there."
Mrs. Obama also told the crowd the kind of change she believes the American people are calling for.
"They want Washington that stops talking a good game about family values, and starts actually creating policies that value families. And when you elect Barack Obama, that's the kind of Washington you will get."
