Sen. Ted Kennedy's son, Rep. Patrick Kennedy, said his dad is prepared to "do battle" with his brain cancer. The senator is scheduled to start chemotherapy and radiation treatments in the weeks ahead.
Kennedy was released from Duke Medical Center last Monday after undergoing brain surgery.
He is now recovering at his Hyannisport Home.
Kennedy's son told the Associated Press his father was considering a pill form of chemotherapy that would allow him to stay home for treatment.
Kennedy was diagnosed with a malignant glioma, a lethal type of brain tumor, after having a seizure at his Cape Cod home. A malignant glioma is one of the worst kinds of brain cancer, and malignant gliomas are diagnosed in about 9,000 Americans a year.
