While his Senate colleagues grilled Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor Tuesday, Sen. Edward Kennedy went for a sail off the Cape as he continues his
battle with brain cancer.
In a photograph taken Tuesday morning, Kennedy was seen sitting in a wheelchair as he boarded a boat in Hyannisport.
The boat took Kennedy out to his sailboat "Mya."
Kennedy has made only a few rare public appearances since he was diagnosed a year ago with terminal brain cancer.
Last Friday, President Barack Obama gave Pope Benedict XVI
a personal letter from Kennedy during a visit to the Vatican.
Obama asked the pope to pray for Kennedy, a member of one of the United States' most prominent Roman Catholic families and a political ally to Obama.
