Boston's WBZ-TV News and Franklin Pierce College (FPC) in Rindge, NH are launching an exclusive partnership to conduct and release a series of ten political polls during the New Hampshire Presidential Primary season.
The first poll is two-parts regarding the candidates' current standing with Democratic results scheduled to be released on tonight (Tuesday, March 13) and Republican results on Wednesday, March 14. WBZ-TV Political Analyst Jon Keller will report the outcome first on WBZ-TV News at 11PM, providing additional analysis of the polls in the popular "Keller At Large" segment. WBZ-TV's New Hampshire Bureau Reporter Karen Anderson will report on the polling process and results as well as Presidential Primary news as part of her continuing New Hampshire coverage.
R. Kelly Myers, a veteran pollster who has covered four Presidential Primaries and who has accepted a position as a Senior Fellow at FPC, will lead the polling efforts. A principal of RKM Research and Communications, Myers will continue his work with the firm as well as serve as analyst for the polls.
"We want to understand the issues that most concern voters," said Jennifer Street, WBZ-TV News Director. "We also want to track how well the candidates are connecting with the voters on those issues. These exclusive polls along with the unique access provided by our New Hampshire Bureau will greatly enhance the depth of our New Hampshire Primary coverage."
The polls will be concurrently conducted at RKM in Portsmouth and on Franklin Pierce College's Rindge campus. Students at the College will be working alongside Myers, and will be involved in the design and questioning phases of the polls and will also analyze the results as part of the class curriculum.
"I'm excited to be working with Franklin Pierce College and WBZ-TV throughout this polling project," said Myers. "This is the fifth consecutive Primary conducting polling, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to provide meaningful learning opportunities for these students and provide insight on the impact of the Primary on the candidates locally through WBZ-TV and on a national stage."
WBZ-TV is part of CBS Television Stations, a division of CBS Corporation, and is Always On at www.wbztv.com.
