Genocide in Sudan: Liz Walker Reports
Exclusive Three-Part Series Airs April 3-5 On WBZ News at 11PM
Next week, WBZ-TV News at 11PM will present a powerful series of reports on the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, "Genocide in Sudan: Liz Walker Reports," airing April 3, 4 and 5. The three-part series is hosted by WBZ-TV's Liz Walker, who shares images and information that you have to see to believe. Last month, Walker made her fourth trip to the war-torn region, and while the crisis is thousands of miles away, Liz's exclusive footage brings home the tragic facts about a situation that is affecting more than just the people of Sudan. See through Liz's eyes the conditions that hundreds of thousands of people endure and the long-term commitment and difference that locals, like Liz, have made.
"Genocide in Sudan" begins Tuesday, April 3 at 11PM with a trip to a refugee settlement that is home to 16,000 people who have fled to escape genocide. Travel with Walker as she delivers emergency supplies to the settlement, and learns that, among the many problems facing the region, humanitarian aid groups are being forced out.
Continuing on Wednesday, April 4 at 11PM, Walker reveals the harsh realities of widespread crime in the region, sharing exclusive footage with victims documenting their survival and activists on the ongoing challenge. The series concludes with Boston's response to genocide, and a woman who is the local and national voice against genocide. On Thursday, April 5 at 11PM, hear from Dr. Gloria White-Hammond, and learn what she has been able to accomplish with determination and 13 trips to Sudan.
