  Yes…this year's Boston Marathon champions include Kenya's Cheruiyot, Russia's Grigoryeva, and Japan's Soejima and Tsuchida. And, WBZ-TV is a Boston Marathon big winner, too:

WBZ-TV's BOSTON MARATHON ELITE RACE – 9:25AM-12:15PM
WBZ-TV delivered the highest household ratings for coverage of the Boston Marathon by any single station in nearly twenty years! The elite race on WBZ-TV was #1 in the time period delivering 274,000 households (11.5 rating/ 29 share) and peaking at 12N with 373,000 households.

The elite race was #1 in the time period in all key demos as well as total viewers (359,000) and peaked at 12N with 484,000 total viewers. From a year ago, WBZ-TV shows triple digit growth across households and all key demos with 249% increase in total viewers. Plus, WBZ-TV had more total viewers than the combined average of WBZ and WCVB in 2006 (250,000 viewers), 2005 (270,000 viewers), 2004 (266,000 viewers), and 2003 (269,000 viewers).

Additionally, WBZ-TV's pre and post race coverage showed significant growth in households and key demos. The preview coverage from 8-9:25AM was up 45% in total viewers over last year, and the post race coverage from 12:15-3PM was up 82% in total viewers from a year ago.
