Boston, MA – July 15, 2009 -  After nearly five years of sleeping just a little bit later each morning, it's up at 2AM again for Kerry Connolly!  Connolly returns to WBZ-TV Morning News as the traffic reporter for the station's weekday newscasts at 5AM and 6AM with anchors Paula Ebben and David Wade, Meteorologist Todd Gutner, and Reporter and Conversation Nation conversationalist David "Robi" Robichaud.  Connolly's return was announced today by John Verrilli, WBZ-TV and TV38 News Director.  Her first day back on 'BZ will be Thursday, August 20, 2009.

From January 2001 to September 2004, Connolly was co-anchor for WBZ-TV's morning newscast at 5AM and 7AM as well as the 7AM-8AM newscast on sister station TV38 (WSBK-TV).  Since leaving WBZ in 2004, Connolly has been the host of "Totally Patriots," a popular Patriots program for youngsters, as well as a reporter for "Patriots All Access," both programs produced by Kraft Sports Production.  Connolly also hosted "Golf Destination" on NESN and the "Boston Magazine Show" special on WCVB-TV.  Before joining WBZ-TV in 2001, Connolly worked at WFSB-TV in Hartford, CT beginning in 1997, first as a reporter and anchor for the weekend morning news before taking the co-anchor position for the station's weekday morning news in 1998.  In addition to her anchor role, Connolly was the station's health/medical reporter.

Born in New Canaan, Connecticut, Connolly began her broadcasting career as an associate producer for Millennium Productions in Deerfield, Florida, writing and producing a sports show for SportsChannel.  She went on to anchor the weekend evening newscast and work as a general assignment reporter for the independent station WNPL-TV in Naples.  In 1993 Connolly joined Continental Cablevision in Naples as news anchor/reporter and host of the station's public affairs program.  She joined WBBH-TV (NBC) in Ft. Myers in 1995 as a reporter and anchor of the weekend morning news, before returning to New England in 1997.

Connolly received a Bachelor of Science degree in human development from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and also studied abroad at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.  An avid athlete, Connolly was an All-American field hockey and lacrosse player at Greenwich Academy and has even played center on a women's ice hockey team.
