What is the flu?
Influenza, or as many of us know it, the flu, is a very contagious respiratory illness that usually appears in the winter or early spring. The virus attacks the body by spreading through the upper and/or lower reparatory tract.
What are the symptoms?
Symptoms of the flu, according to the
Center for Disease Control (CDC), include fever, headache, tiredness, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches and diarrhea and vomiting.

The flu season usually peaks in January of February and can last as late as May.
