Hot Holiday Gifts To Fit Your Budget

Resource: WBZ's Economic Resource Guide

BOSTON (WBZ) ― This could be a tough holiday season for retailers. Sales are expected to be the most sluggish they've been in years.

Shopping consultant Jenn Falik put together a list of gifts that are expected to be hot this year, without emptying your bank account. She focuses on gifts that are both unique and useful.

For Kids

For children, Falik likes Eeebee's Adventures. It's a new line of DVDs and plush toys that both entertain and engage children. They sell for about $18.

Sweat suits from Primp Kids casual wear are also getting a thumbs-up for kids. They start at $32.

Travelers

If you have a loved one who is also a frequent traveler, try the Nuddle. It's a blanket that has pockets for feet and holes for arms. It is cozy and covers a passenger up completely. This goes for about $110.

'Green' Friend

For a "green" friend, try organic cocktail mixers from Stirrings. They retail for about $14.

Another environmentally friendly option is cardboard speakers from Fashion Nation. They are made of 100% recycled cardboard. You can plug them into an iPod and they fold flat for travel. The speakers sell for about $15.

For Her

For the beauty junkie on your list, Falik picks Stila's Surprise & Shine. It's a makeup palette with a personalized recording and retails for around $70.

Antique pearl necklaces from the Limited look chic and vintage. They retail for $30.

For Him

Ties from Aldo are a good choice for men with a suggested retail price of just $15.

Unisex

A chunky gold Armitron watch is unisex. It sells for $70.

For friends who like to take photos, Falik recommends a compact Canon photo printer, which retails for about $80. It hooks up directly to the camera to start printing photos.
