A series of manhole explosions in Harvard Square resulted in fire shooting from the streets for hours. WBZ-TV photographer Rick Hertzler was on the scene early and captured some amazing pictures.

Smoke and flames started shooting out of several manholes in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Dunster Street shortly after 2:30 a.m.
