July 8 - Daily Soaps Update

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Here are the daily soap opera summaries for "The Young and the Restless," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "As The World Turns," and "Guiding Light."

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

As Sabrina rushes into Restless Style for her photo shoot, Victor arrives on her heels wanting to talk to Nick about Nikki and David.  Adam overhears Victor investigating David.  Later, Adam introduces Victor to Skye. Nikki interrupts Jack and Sharon's business meeting when she spots an old friend, Elise.  Nikki learns that Jack is promising advertisers to change the demographics of the magazine and isn't happy.  Gloria arrives and Elise informs Jack and Sharon that Gloria is the reason is she advertising.  Gloria asks Nikki for her old job back.  Nikki agrees to consider it.  Jeff and Gloria begin formulate a plan to get Jabot back.  Jeff suggests that he and Gloria start buying up Jabot stock on the open market.  Meanwhile, Sharon is concerned when she sees that Jack is unwavering in changing the look of the magazine.  Later, at Restless Style, Nikki informs Nick that Jack is pushing a more chic, classic look for the magazine to potential advertisers.  Jack calls Jamie Whitfield and Kathy Hilton to come see the new issue of the magazine. Jamie and Kathy arrive at the magazine looking for Jack.  Nikki encourages Nick to play Jack's game.  Later, Jack is blind-sided when he sees Nick playing nice with Jamie and Kathy.  Jamie loves Nick's ideas for an Old Hollywood glam cover. Jack and Nick continue to silently size one another up.  Later, Sabrina finishes her photo shoot and gives Jana a necklace as a thank you.  Phyllis explains to Nick that she thinks they should fire Amber, but he disagrees. Jack makes a secretive phone call to Phillipe. Jana announces to Amber that Daniel and Kevin will be home soon.  Amber begins to feel guilty as Phyllis comes by and drops Amber's camisole on her desk.  Amber manages to cover quickly, which angers Phyllis.  Later, Amber asks Jana if honesty is the best policy.  At Indigo, Amber and Adrian talk.  Adrian sees how nervous Amber is and he suggests that she confess to Daniel the truth about what happened. Chloe learns she is pregnant.  As she starts formulating a plan, she calls Cane who is meeting with an old friend at Indigo.  Later, Cane and his friend, Bas, are getting tipsy when Chloe arrives.  Chloe immediately stars flirting with Bas, who invites her to stay. While the drinking continues, Cane extols on his love for Lily and Jana assures Amber that her life with Daniel is charmed.  Chloe decides to drive Cane home, and Jana leaves Amber who is hyper aware that Adrian has arrived at Indigo. Cane passes out in Chloe's car and Chloe starts taking off his clothes.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL 

Bridget breaks the good news of her engagement to her parents and Donna.  While Eric is thrilled for his daughter, Donna wonders about Nick's commitment to Bridget. Brooke worries about how Katie feels.  Jackie tries her best to get Katie to admit her feelings for Nick but is unsuccessful.  Katie vows to Jackie that Nick and Bridget's wedding will be nothing but the best. During a visit, Donna confronts Katie about being in love with Nick.  Katie stands her ground with Donna and insists that she never bring up the topic again.


AS THE WORLD TURNS 

Meg wakes in a panic and finds Paul coming in from the garden where he's planted roses over Sofie's grave. Meg wants to tell the police but Paul reminds her they will assume he killed Sofie. Meg assures she doesn't want that but only wishes they had some evidence to offer the police. Barbara arrives, insisting she feels wonderful and she wants them to get married immediately. Once she is gone, Paul and Meg realize she could be the murderer but agree she could never survive the investigation. Meanwhile, after questioning Barbara about Sofie, Mike goes to get her personal effects. He finds some jewelry and a number for Cole. Cole informs Mike that Sofie wasn't the sweet innocent girl she pretended to be and that he doesn't care where she is. Mike comes to Fairwinds to question Paul and finds him about to marry Meg. Mike is shocked but Meg insists it is what she wants. Paul and Meg exchange vows while Mike finds a piece of Sofie's jewelry on the ground and is disturbed.

Neal arrives early for his date with Carly and has a tense meeting with Jack. Carly and Neal leave and Jack goes to Holden and Lily to complain about them setting up Carly, insisting he's concerned about Carly dating another playboy with an accent.  Holden agrees and Lily is appalled at both men's attitudes. Meanwhile, Carly and Neal have a wonderful time on their lunch date. He brings her home and Carly finds Jack waiting inside for her. Later, Neal finds Holden and Lily at the farm and thanks them for the set up. Lily is pleased and suggests they all have dinner together. Holden says it's a bad idea but Neal thinks its great and happily accepts. After he goes, Lily wonders about Holden's attitude. Lily says Carly deserves someone who can love her for who she is and Holden is affected.

GUIDING LIGHT

Reva is stunned to learn that the person who's trying to shut down production is Jeffrey. Jeffrey said he made some permit inquiries upon Josh's request, but wasn't going to shut the movie down without Reva's okay. Later, Reva combines a bunch of Jeffrey's pain pills into a vial and heads out.

Mallet and Marina debate which of the exes, Dinah or Cyrus was worse than the other. Marina tells Mallet that life with Cyrus wasn't real life. Mallet and Marina toast to their own independence day-being free of Cyrus and Dinah, as the happy couple kisses.

Reva sees Daisy and Grady in a passionate embrace. Frank is angry that Jeffrey is going to have to lessen the charges against Grady in order to make sure he gives up Alan. Reva pulls Daisy and Grady apart and gives him a piece of her mind-as well as slipping the pain meds into his pocket. Reva disguises her voice and calls Frank, giving him an "anonymous" tip that G's got drugs on him. Daisy is with Cyrus when he gets the call that Grady was arrested again. Frank tells Jeffrey about the painkillers he found and Jeffrey complains about the pills he has to take. Frank begins to put two and two together and calls Reva to give her the news on Grady-knowing very well that she already knew. Cyrus goes to call a lawyer, as Grady tells Daisy someone in her family set him up.
