August 1 - Daily Soaps Update

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Here are the daily soap opera summaries for "The Young and the Restless," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "As The World Turns," and "Guiding Light."

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

Devon asks Karen for her help, but she isn't sure that she has any real influence over Neil at the moment.  Devon confesses to Karen that he wants to leave school to pursue music and asks for her support with Neil.  Karen witnesses an emotional embrace between Neil and Tyra.  Karen subtly mentions to Tyra that she needs to start looking for her own place. 

Sharon shows Jack a copy of the sales reports and he is thrilled.  Jack considers sending out a fifth printing and Sharon begins to wonder if he even has a heart. Jack and Sharon know that with Sabrina's death Victor will never let them forget publishing the article on Sabrina. Nick and Victoria agree it isn't the right time for Nikki to see Victor.  Nikki continues to apologize until Victor snaps and forces her to face Sabrina and see what she has done by bringing David into their lives. Nick and Victoria step in to try and stop the fight between Nikki and Victor. Nevertheless, as the attendant rolls Sabrina's body out Victor yells to Nikki that he wishes it were her going to the morgue instead of Sabrina.  As Nikki takes some time alone, Nick and Victoria worry about what giving morphine to a recovering addict could do to Nikki's sobriety.

Later, Jack slips into Sabrina's gallery and sees Victor standing in the room alone, eyes closed, listening to Sabrina's opera music.  As Jack slips out, unseen Victor turns and realizes he was there.  Alone, Victor lets down his guard.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Katie flashes back to the day she spent with Nick on the island.  Bridget is confused when Katie goes on a rant and asks her to leave.  Later, Bridget explains to Donna why Eric is now hooked up to a ventilator and how his condition is grim.  Jackie continues to interrogate Nick about his feelings towards Katie.  After learning that she is pregnant, Katie calls Nick to meet her on The Shady Marlin.

AS THE WORLD TURNS

In St. Louis, Emily snaps out of her trance, having left her perfume on the plane, and tells Casey that she thinks getting married was a huge mistake. Both Emily and Casey are confused by her behavior. Once home, Margo confronts Casey about his wedding ring and he admits that Emily led him on and broke his heart. Margo storms to WorldWide where Emily is already admonishing herself for impulsively marrying and upsetting Casey. Before Margo can yell at her, Emily collapses on the floor. Margo rushes Emily to the hospital where Alison has been secluded and where Chris is determined to investigate the mystery illness. When Emily's brought in, Bob realizes there may be something to these coincidences. Chris convinces Bob to reinstate him so that he can lend a helping hand.

Katie accidentally tips off Janet to Brad and Liberty's disappearance when she drops by the farm to see if Janet's been in touch with Liberty. Janet, convinced that Brad kidnapped her daughter, demands Katie figure out what's going on. They go to Parker who tells them and Jack that he hasn't spoken to Liberty. Brad calls Katie and admits that he took Liberty to get some country air. Katie suspects he could have gone to a cabin he mentioned earlier so Jack connects with the local police and gives them Brad's license plate. Then they hear that Brad did go to the cabin and Katie decides to investigate. Meanwhile, despite having a rough morning together, Liberty has finally managed to be civil toward Brad and is pleased when he teaches her to fish and other camping tricks. Katie spies Brad and Liberty having a good time so she sneaks away and Brad and Liberty continue to bond. Parker having overheard Liberty's whereabouts calls the bus station to find the next bus to cabin area.

GUIDING LIGHT

Reva runs into Jeffrey on his way out and he seems distracted. When he leaves to try to contact Olivia, Reva finds wedding brochures on his desk. When Reva confronts Jeffrey about the brochures he admits that he got a little spooked when he found all the brochures for extravagant weddings which is not what he had in mind for them. To prove that an extravagant wedding is not something she wants either, Reva takes Jeffrey to a mini-golf course and suggests they should get married right there.

Remy speaks to Mel as he juggles all the diapers he has just bought for Max. He tells her about his plans to move to Chicago and raise Max with Ava and Mel warns him that he shouldn't be worrying about any of that until Max is released from the hospital. Bill tells Lizzie that he is worried he may lose Max to Remy and Lizzie reminds him that Max was never his to lose. While Bill tells Lizzie how much Max means to him, a doctor approaches them with the news that Max is having trouble breathing. Mel calls Remy and tells him he needs to come to the hospital right away. Remy arrives at the hospital where Bill, Lizzie and Oliva are all informed that Max's condition is very serious. Jeffrey and Reva's moment is interrupted when Jeffrey receives a phone call from Olivia with the news of Max's condition and they leave for the hospital. As Lizzie comforts Bill, a nurse approaches and Mel informs Bill, Lizzie, Jeffrey, Olivia and Reva that Max did not survive. Mel finds Remy and without speaking a word, Remy knows what she is going to say and breaks down. As Lizzie offers her support to Bill, his emotions takeover and he storms out of the hospital while Lizzie watches from a distance. Reva comforts Jeffrey and they rush to help Olivia who is having trouble breathing. Lizzie finds Bill in his car and she tries to stop him from letting his anger take over.
