Shula: Patriots Achievements Diminished

BOSTON (AP) ― The man who coached the only NFL team to go through an entire NFL season undefeated is suggesting that an asterisk be put next to the Patriots if they accomplish the same feat.

Former Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula told the New York Daily News this week that "Spygate" has diminished what the Patriots have accomplished. He was referring to the stiff penalties meted out by the NFL earlier this season after the Patriots violated NFL rules by videotaping the New York Jets' coaches.

Shula's 1972 Dolphins team went 17-0 including a Super Bowl victory.

Shula's comments aren't sitting well with some members of the Patriots, who are 9-0 going into the bye week.

Veteran linebacker Tedy Bruschi says he can't help but be upset when someone questions the integrity of an organization that he's been part of since coming into the league.
