Brown Out As Knicks Coach
(AP)
The New York Knicks fired Larry Brown as coach and gave general manager Isiah Thomas that job as well, the team
announced Thursday.
The Knicks stumbled to a 23-59 record in their only season under Brown, whose status had been in limbo since the end of the season. Last month, Brown called himself a "dead man walking" because of
the uncertainty.
Thomas joined the Knicks as president and general manager in December 2003. He was coach of the Indiana Pacers for three seasons through 2002-03, compiling a 131-115 record.
