Theo's Gorilla Suit Fetches $11,000 At Auction

BOSTON (CBS4) ― The infamous gorilla costume worn by former Red Sox G.M. Theo Epstein fetched big bucks at auction this weekend.

Epstein wore the suit on Halloween night, as he slipped out of Fenway Park after resigning from his post. The suit was loaned to Epstein from another Red Sox employee as he sought a way to avoid the media horde outside the park.

The suit was auctioned off Sunday night as part of the annual Hot Stove Cool Music charity concert. A mystery buyer paid $11,000 for the hairy costume. We're told Theo wore it on stage and promised to return to the Red Sox should someone pay more than $10,000.

All proceeds from the event go to the Jimmy Fund and Epstein's Foundation to be Named Later.
