The Boston Bruins shipped Phil Kessel to the Toronto Maple Leafs Friday night in exchange for three draft picks.
The Bruins will receive first and second round picks in 2010, and a first rounder in 2011.
The 21-year-old Kessel tallied 36 goals and 24 assists in 70 games last season. He was a restricted free agent.
The Toronto Star reports the Leafs signed Kessel to a 5-year, $27 million dollar contract.
The Bruins picked Kessel fifth overall in the 2005 draft. Kessel had shoulder surgery over the summer and won't be ready to play until at least November.
