23 Arrested In Post Game Celebration

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Boston Police said Wednesday 23 people were arrested during the Celtics championship celebration, most for disorderly conduct.

Several storefront windows were damaged near the TD Banknorth Garden after the Celtics' 131-92 win over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

In one incident, a bus stop at Portland and Canal streets was knocked down.

Mayor Tom Menino called the alleged offenders "punks" on Wednesday and said they should face tough penalties.

Police increased patrols around the arena Tuesday night and early Wednesday and used video surveillance at key areas around the city to control rowdiness.
