BOSTON (WBZ) ― The fan who was jumped at the Staples Center for wearing his Celtics jersey during Game 2 is in Boston and is ready to celebrate his team's win during Thursday's rolling rally.

Gabriel Mendivil, 33, was the man beaten up in Los Angeles. The incident drew national attention after the video was posted on YouTube.

According to the Boston Herald, generous people who heard his story chipped in and got Mendivils and his 9-year-old daughter a flight to Boston for the Celtics' victory parade.

The paper reports Mendivil was picked up from Logan Airport in a limo and given a room at the Park Plaza Hotel.  He is also scheduled to take a Harbor Cruise before he heads back to California.
