The NBA released its regular season schedule Wednesday afternoon and the World Champion Boston Celtics will begin defense of their title Tuesday October 28 at the Garden against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Celtics defeated the Cavs in 7 games in the Eastern Conference semi-finals last season.
The Celtics will have their first rematch with the Western Conference Champion Lakers on Christmas Day in Los Angeles. The Celtics will host the Lakers Thursday February 5.
Boston has 25 games scheduled for national television.
Regular season tickets go on sale Friday September 26.
The Celtics also released their pre-season schedule Wednesday. Highlights include trips to UMass-Amherst, Providence, RI, and Manchester, NH in October.
