The Boston Celtics will sign power forward
Shelden Williams to a one year contract, according to Boston.com
Williams' deal is expected to be worth $1.3 million, the veteran's minimum.
The 6-9, 250 pound Williams was drafted 5th by the Atlanta Hawks in 2006. After two disappointing seasons, he was shipped to Sacramento in a deal for guard Mike Bibby. At the trade deadline last season, Williams was traded to Minnesota.
The 25-year old Williams has career averages of 4.1 ppg and 3.4 rpg.
While Williams adds front court depth to the Celtics, Yahoo! Sports Marc Spears reports this signing will not interfere with any attempts to resign Glen Davis.
Williams is married to WNBA star Candace Parker.
