There could be some future first round picks in this family. You can see from their
Celtics jerseys they've been inspired. "I just love it. I would love to be in the NBA one day," said Max Fignole.
And on Wednesday, the Fignole family got a taste of home court advantage as they broke in their brand new basketball court with Celtics stars Eddie House and Cedric Maxwell.
The new court is part of an essay contest sponsored by the Boston Celtics and RE/MAX.
Eden Fignole wrote the winning essay. She along with her sister, who's battling breast cancer, are raising six children together.
"This family had a phenomenal essay and they talked about the value of families," said Christine Carlos of RE/MAX. "Two moms raising their six kids together and they are huge Celtics fans."
And now they have their official championship court. "It's nice to put smile on people faces and change their lives in a positive way," said House.
"To have (a) safe place and (a) safe environment for them to play -- that's what it's all about. I wasn't that fortunate as a kid."
It's not everyday you get a professional athlete to come to your home and create a brand new basketball court in your front yard. And for the Fignole family, it's something they will never forget.
Each of the kids received gift bags from the Celtics. Later in the day, Eddie house and Maxwell hosted a free basketball clinic at Randolph High School.
