Celtics guard Ray Allen needed stitches Saturday to close a cut above his left eye after getting inadvertently elbowed during practice,
reports WEEI.com.
The Celtics were running an offensive drill when Ray was hit by Kendrick Perkins.
"We run a lot of hand-off stuff as you know and it didn't go well. It was a hand-off with Perk and Perk had his elbow up while he was supposed to be handing it off to Ray," Doc Rivers told WEEI.
The Celtics open up the regular season Tuesday night in Cleveland against LeBron James and the Cavaliers.
