After spending hours at LAX, the exhausted Boston Celtics landed at Hanscom Air Force Base, but there was a player missing. Ray Allen is still in Los Angeles dealing with an undisclosed family issue.
Allen is scheduled to return to Boston on Tuesday in time for Game 6.
The Celtics guard left immediately after Game 5 of the NBA Finals at the Staples Center Sunday night to tend to his family issue. He struggled during the game -- shooting 4 for 13, scoring 16 points in the Celtics loss.
Celtics coach Doc Rivers wouldn't comment in the post-game news conference. He released a brief statement instead.
"Ray Allen was forced to leave Staples Center at the conclusion of tonight's game due to a health issue with one of his children. We ask that you please respect Ray's privacy at this time, and we'll keep you up to date as best we can moving forward."
