The steady hands of Kevin Youkilis lead to a Gold Glove for the Red Sox first baseman.
Youkilis was the first qualifying first baseman in American League history to compile a perfect fielding percentage.
Since committing his last error at first base on July 4th, 2006, Youkilis has handled 1,587 chances in 190 games -- an American League record and three shy of the major league mark set by San Diego's Steve Garvey.
Youkilis is just the second Boston player to earn a Gold Glove in the last 16 seasons.
Catcher Jason Varitek was honored in 2005.
Youkilis' career fielding percentage is .994.
The only other Red Sox first baseman to win a Gold Glove was George Scott, who picked up the award three times in the late 60s and early 1970s.
