At the age of ten, Michelle Wie became the youngest player ever to qualify for the Women's U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship. A week before her 16th birthday, Wie announced that she was turning professional.

Michelle Wie finished her third round at the State Farm Classic expecting to contend on Sunday. Moments later, she learned she wouldn't even be playing.
Wie was disqualified after LPGA officials learned she left the scoring tent before returning to sign her scorecard following Friday's second round, knocking out the biggest name in a tournament where few of the top players are competing.
That left Yani Tseng leading the tournament at 18 under, followed by Katie Futcher at 16 under and Hee-Won Han and Ji Young Oh another shot back.
