Adalius Thomas Says He's Fine After Benching

FOXBORO (AP) ― Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas says he's doing fine after being healthy but on the inactive list for the first time since his rookie season in 2000.

Thomas said Wednesday he was shocked when he found out just before last Sunday's 59-0 win over the Tennessee Titans that he wouldn't be playing.

Asked if he thought New England coach Bill Belichick benched him to motivate him, Thomas said only Belichick can answer that.

Belichick has said he activates players based on who gives the Patriots the best chance to win.

Thomas said no individual is bigger than the team.

Thomas played in two Pro Bowls when he was with the Baltimore Ravens before the Patriots signed him as a free agent after the 2006 season.
