A Princeton lawyer insists he isn't fumbling a lawsuit against the New England Patriots and coach Bill Belichick.
But the clock is running down against the Jets season-ticket holder who wants millions, claiming the team and Belichick deceived customers by videotaping opponents' signals.
Carl Mayer filed the lawsuit in September with some fanfare by appearing outside the Jets offices in Manhattan.
But the lawyer has done virtually nothing since to advance the litigation, which sought class-action status.
A federal court in Newark advised Mayer last week that the lawsuit would be dismissed June 30 unless he gives a judge a reason it should continue.
Mayer insists he'll pursue another angle.
