The New England Patriots have traded veteran cornerback Ellis Hobbs to the Philadelphia Eagles for two draft picks.
Hobbs, who started for the Patriots last season, will rejoin former teammate Asante Samuel in the Philadelphia secondary. New England receives a pair of fifth-round picks in Sunday's NFL draft, the 137th and 141st overall picks.
The Patriots came into day two of the draft with four third-round draft choices, but traded two of the picks.
New England then selected North Carolina wide receiver Brandon Tate with the 83rd overall pick and chose South Florida linebacker Tyrone McKenzie at No. 97.
