Tom Brady and Randy Moss. They have been a force to be reckoned with all season. The two have made headlines all year long for their amazing play-making capabilities and instant chemistry.
WBZ's Steve Burton sat down with Brady and Moss at their Scottsdale hotel on Sunday only moments after the Patriots landed in Phoenix.
Moss, who many people had doubts about before the season started, quickly became a local hero for Patriots fans catching Brady's passes and helping the team score huge points against their opponents.
Over the past year with the Patriots, Moss racked up almost 1,500 yards and caught 23 touchdown passes an NFL record.
Moss said he's always been a fan of Brady's and the New England team. He admits part of it is because of the Patriots' three championships, but a lot of it has to do with New England's professional attitude. "I think as far as the way they carried themselvesyou know, being a professional organization, and by me coming first hand and being able to experience the ride with Tom and the rest of the team and coaches, you know, it's a dream."
Over the past season, Brady and Moss have developed a relationship or love, as Moss put it for each other. After each game, Moss said, he and Brady send texts to each other -- discussing the game, how well they did, or where they could have done better.
"The learning process of getting to know each other was a great experience," said Moss. "We have a relationship that we do not have to be sitting at the dinner table together where people can see us out in public," he said. "We have a relationship, I think, is an understanding of each other, you know, I got your back no matter where you are
that's the way I see it."
The bond between Brady and Moss is very apparent. When the defense hits the field, the two are sitting together on the sidelines talking over the last few plays, what worked and what didn't.
So what do they talk about for all that time? Well, whatever it is, Brady said it all boils down trust. "I think a big part of it is because everything in life comes down to trust."
Trust, skill and pure talent have helped Brady and Moss become an almost super-human combination over the past 18 games. And as the team looks ahead to Sunday, Moss continues to count his blessings.
"I tell Tom every time, I'm still living the dream."
