Belichick On Blowout: A 'Total Team Loss'

Read: Patriots-Dolphins Box Score

FOXBORO (WBZ) ― Bill Belichick isn't passing the buck.

The New England Patriots coach says he shares the blame for the crushing 38-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins. But he says the rest of the players and coaches share in it, too.

At his weekly news conference Monday, Belichick called Sunday's blowout to Miami a "total team loss."

"I don't think we did a good job coaching, starting with me and we didn't do a good job playing. We got beat in pretty much every phase of the game," he said.

There was one bright spot. Belichick pointed to Ellis Hobbs returning six kickoffs for 237 yards.

The Patriots will have some extra time to try to work out their problems.

They have a bye week, then they face San Francisco on Oct. 5.
