The New England Patriots have placed safety
Rodney Harrison on injured reserve, ending his season.
The move came Wednesday, two days after Harrison tore a quadriceps muscle in his right thigh. The injury is expected to end the career of the 15-year veteran, who is in the final year of his contract.
Harrison was hurt on the final play of the third quarter of Monday night's 41-7 win over the Denver Broncos.
The Patriots also signed defensive back Antwain Spann from their practice squad Wednesday and added guard Dan Connolly and safety Mark Dillard to it.
