Tom Brady: 'It Will All Be OK'

FOXBORO (WBZ) ― Tom Brady broke his silence Monday evening on his season ending injury - sort of. The sidelined Patriots quarterback hasn't spoken on camera, but he did send an email to NBC Sports proclaiming, "It will all be ok."

In the brief note sent Monday night Brady wrote, "It will all be OK. I'm excited to see what our team is made of … I still like our chances."

That message echoed around the Patriots locker room Monday, after word came down that Brady's torn ACL would require surgery and keep him out for the remainder of the season.

"We're not going to tank it the rest of the season. That's not going to happen," said defensive lineman Richard Seymour. "There's always a way to win. We're not going to have a lot of excuses about it."

"As a team we all just have to do our jobs. That really doesn't change," Coack Bill Belichick said. "He played one position, he played it very well. We have somebody else playing that position now."

Tom Brady was not only a leader on the field, but off the field as well - a role that will be just as sorely missed. There is no word yet exactly when Brady will have his surgery.

The unexpected turn of events pushed backup quarterback Matt Cassel into the spotlight. Cassel is scheduled to make his first NFL start on Sunday against the New York Jets - a team which will be led on the field by one of the most tenured quarterbacks in the game, Brett Favre.

"I'm not trying to be Tom Brady," Cassel said Monday. "I'm just trying to be Matt Cassel. I don't know where that's going to take us."
