Tom Brady is back in the Boston-Foxboro area, according to published reports.
The
Boston Globe is reporting that Brady returned to Boston recently for a checkup on his surgically repaired left knee by team doctors.
NFL sources also told the paper he's being treated for a postoperative staph infection with antibiotics.
That infection has delayed his rehab, which takes six-to-nine months.
"I've seen great surgeries go bad, go horrible with bad rehab," Dr. Lonnie Paulos told the Globe.
Paulos rebuilt Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer's knee.
"I've seen marginal surgeries salvaged with great rehab. Rehab is probably every bit as important as the surgery itself. The whole surgical technique is designed to enhance rehab," he said.
The
Boston Herald is reporting that Brady has started rehab at Gillette Stadium and that he was also in Boston over the weekend for a commercial event.
