Red Sox Make Pitch To Host 2012 All-Star Game
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
The Red Sox have asked Major League Baseball if Boston can host the 2012 All-Star game to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Fenway Park, the team announced Thursday.
The 2009 All-Star Game is already scheduled to be held in St. Louis, and the 2010 game will be held at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.
Fenway Park last held an All-Star game in 1999.
Meanwhile,
Fenway just added 560 new seats to the Major League's oldest and smallest ballpark.
