Report: Manny Shoves Traveling Secretary

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Just weeks after getting into a scuffle with Kevin Youkilis, Red Sox left fielder Manny Ramirez shoved the team's traveling secretary to the ground in Houston over the weekend, according to a published report.

According to the Providence Journal's Sean McAdam, Ramirez shoved Red Sox traveling secretary Jack McCormick to the ground in an argument over Ramirez' ticket allotment. Several people jumped in to separate them.

According to McAdam, Ramirez had asked McCormick for 16 tickets for Saturday night's Red Sox-Astros game, an unusually high number on such short notice. One of the traveling secretary's duties is to take player ticket requests for games.

McCormick told Ramirez that he might not be able to get all 16, and according to McAdam, Ramirez responded by shouting: "Just do your job!" They started arguing and Ramirez pushed McCormick.

They met behind closed doors later and Ramirez reportedly apologized to McCormick, who accepted.

Ramirez had no comment for the Journal Sunday about the incident: "That's over. We're fine now."

McCormick told the paper: "It was an unfortunate misunderstanding and it's over with as far as I'm concerned."

Back on June 5, Ramirez swung at Kevin Youkilis as the two got into a shouting match in the Red Sox dugout during a game at Fenway Park.

Just last week, Houston pitcher Shawn Chacon tackled Astros general manger Ed Wade in the Astros clubhouse at Minute Maid Park.  Chacon was put on waivers Thursday.
