Manny Ramirez told reporters "Don't worry about it," when he was asked Friday about his fight with Kevin Youkilis Thursday night in the Red Sox dugout.
Watch The Fight HereRamirez and Youkilis got into a shouting match and had to be separated at the end of the fourth inning of Boston's 7-1 win over Tampa, in a game that included a bench-clearing brawl between the clubs in the second inning.
TV cameras showed Ramirez swinging and pointing at Youkilis before being escorted down the runway toward the clubhouse by trainer Paul Lessard and a few players.
Neither player spoke to reporters after the game.
At an event Friday morning in Downtown Crossing, a reporter shouted to Ramirez "What happened in the dugout last night?"
"Don't worry about it," was his only response.
Red Sox manager Terry Francona felt emotions were still running hot after the earlier brawl.
"I think they were just exchanging some views on things," he said Thursday night, trying to downplay his players' near altercation.
"We had a lot of testosterone going tonight," Francona said.
"It was kind of a hectic night. Sometimes those things happen. It wasn't really a big deal; it won't be a big deal."
