Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz was taking swings in the batting cage at Fenway Park for the first time since injuring his wrist back in May.
Ortiz has been on the disabled list with a torn tendon sheath in his left wrist, an injury he suffered on May 31 in Baltimore.
Ortiz said he could not even hold a bat when he first got hurt, but he was taking swings outside on the field before Monday night's game against Minnesota. "I was trying to swing hard, just to make sure I don't feel anything," Ortiz said. "It was fine. I'm just going to keep on doing what the trainer telling me to do and keep working this week to see how it goes."
Ortiz did take some swings indoors at Yankee Stadium on Sunday.
