Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz is calling on his friends -- even the New York Yankees -- to help out with his children's charity.
Ortiz will hold a
celebrity golf tournament in the Dominican Republic next month.
Already committed are Bobby Orr, John Havlicek and a bunch of baseball stars, including Alex Rodriguez and Mariano Rivera. "I've been making phone calls, trying to get in touch with the guys that I know, and pretty much everyone has said yes," Ortiz told WBZ's Steve Burton.
Manny might even show up. "I talked to Manny
He's coming back on Saturday and there's a lot of possibility that he would (be there.)"
Ortiz said Tuesday that his left wrist is feeling better after he was bothered most of the season. The doctors say it will get better with rest.
He also told
reporters the Red Sox could use another big bat next season.
