Is Fenway Park Recession Proof?

BOSTON (WBZ) ― While thousands filed through the Fenway Park turnstiles for Game 3 of the ACLS, at least one family chose to take it in from the outside.

The Ficociellos of Woburn came to show their two daughters what Yawkey Way is like during a game. "It's a little out of our price range this year, save our money for fuel and other things…and there are gas bills for the house."

Fenway boasts the highest ticket prices in the country.

Apparently those who are able to pay for seats are not necessarily opening their wallets for souvenirs. Clerks at the T-Shirt stand next to the main entrance say sales are down 20 percent.

But Fenway still holds the record for the most consecutive sold out games at any ballpark in the country. We caught up with a financial trader outside the park. "It's an institution, right?"

He says investing in Sox tickets may be one of the safest investments out there right now. "Everyone loves a winner and you go spend your money on something that's going to make you happy."
