Report: Varitek Getting Divorced

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Red Sox captain Jason Varitek is getting a divorce, according to a published report.

The Boston Globe is reporting Varitek and his wife Karen filed for divorce July 28 in Gwinnett County, Ga., where they live in the offseason with their three daughters, ages 8, 6, and 3.

The Variteks were married in 1997.

Their attorneys had no comment.

Varitek, 36, is in the final year of a four-year, $40 million contract with the Red Sox.
